Freehand Drawing
Here's some of my art from my Freehand Drawing class (5/6/03-6/5/03). All of these were drawn on very large paper so it took me like 8 scans to get the whole thing.  Keep in mind that my scanner didn't pick up the fine light detail of my art.  It looks so much better in real life.

  Still Life - Coconuts
Medium: Charcoal
Paper: 18x24 sketch paper
Ramblings: Probably my best and most realistic work of art yet. It was the best in the class.

  Still Life - Fruit
Medium: Pastels
Paper: 18x24 sketch paper
Ramblings: I took way too long drawing the fruits.  To finish it on time, I had to quickly draw the folded table cloth.  In a realistic sense, my drawing was the best in the class. ^_^  Keep in mind that my box of pastels only has 10 colors.  Most of the colors in this drawing were the result of blending. That green thing was the most difficult thing to draw because it wasn't smooth like all the other fruits.  It was covered with small ridges and spots of green, brown and yellow.  Some people said "bah, screw it!" and drew theirs somewhat abstract; which came out good too.

  Model Sketch - Ink
Medium: Indian Ink
Paper: 18x24 sketch paper
Ramblings: We used twigs instead of ink pens! =D  My art teacher wanted us to draw with nature.  And of course, my drawing came out the most realistic. ;D  Ink is the most difficult medium to draw with because it's permanent.  With charcoal and pastels, you can use that special clay eraser to fix mistakes, but not ink!

  Model Sketch - Color
Medium: Pastels
Paper: 18x24 sketch paper
Ramblings: Ah, drawing a model...  the most difficult form of art.  This was very difficult for me.  I had to blend all of my colors to get the desired realistic color.  I did the blending with my fingers so it wasn't easy for me to blend the proper colors for small areas like her fingers, toes and face.  Her face was the most difficult part of all!  I also left it for last so I kind of rushed it a bit.  And I cut off the top of her head. >_<
